The Luncheon is a story of invitation and cheat.  Learners will know about a short story. They will learn how to behave well with others. 

There was a great writer in the short story 'The Luncheon'. He was so expert in his work but unfortunately he was very poor. Yet he loved people especially his well-wishers. Once a lady who was his well-wisher was invited by the writer unwillingly. Both of them met together in Foyot's. Foyot's  was so expensive a restaurant that the writer never ventured to go there. But on that day he had to go only for the lady guest. The lady guest was so clever and started to try to exploit with him. She said that she never ate for luncheon. But she ate salmon fish which was so expensive. Then she said that she had never eaten more than one thing for lunch. Yet she again another costly item. In that way of speaking mode, she ate champaign, asparagus, peach, ice-cream.... that is to say she ate more than half a dozen. One the other hand the writer ate mutton chop which was the cheapest dish on the menu. For the mutton chop, the lady guest laughed at him and advised him not to take heavy item of food. While departing from the restaurant, the writer paid the bill at the saddest heart. He then thought how to pass the rest days of the month without money. The experience was so painful that it should not come to one's life. At last immortal gods in place of the writer took revenge on her. As a result she weighed so much more that she had to bear all the sufferings in life.
