Sentence is to be known at first!

Sentence is to be known at first in the English grammar. From this post,  students will know about sentences and their uses. Their power of four skills will be developed.

A group of words that has a complete sense of meaning is called a sentence.

According to meaning, sentences are of five kinds-- 

1)Assertive Sentence

2)Interrogative Sentence

3)Imperative Sentence

4)Optative Sentence

5)Exclamatory Sentence

According to structure, sentences are of three kinds-- 

1)Simple Sentence

2)Complex Sentence

3)Compound Sentence

Examples:-

1)Assertive Sentence       : He is a good student.

2)Interrogative Sentence  : Isn't he a good student?

3)Imperative Sentence      : Read the book.

4)Optative Sentence          :May he pass the exam.

5)Exclamatory Sentence   :How nice the house is!

1)Simple Sentence            : He is too weak to walk.

2)Complex Sentence         : He is so weak that he cannot walk.

3)Compound Sentence      : He is very weak and cannot walk.
